Home Grown Garden Tour 2022

We parterned with Sustainable Living Armidale to support the Home Grown Garden Tour on the 26-27th Feb 2022

The weekend began with a Welcome to Country at the Armidale Aboriginal Community Garden on Saturday 26th February at 9.30am. Then it was a ‘choose your own adventure’ garden tour by visiting the 8 gardens across morning (10 – 12.30pm) and afternoon (1.30 – 4pm) sessions over both Saturday and Sunday.

We planned a ‘bring-your-own’ picnic to celebrate the 10th Birthday of the Home Grown Garden Tour at the Armidale Community Garden on Saturday 26th 4 – 7pm (there was to be live music from 5pm; event weather permitting – but the weather didn’t permit!).

We engaged Armidale-based filmmaker Mike Terry to ask the Gardeners about how they do all the work in their gardens. Watch the results here: https://vimeo.com/716292218/a6bc5b03ad

Sustainable Living Armidale (SLA) has a long tradition of running the Home Grown Garden Tour, visiting backyard gardens and growers in Armidale. This year the Armidale Climate and Health Project is supporting SLA with the Home Grown Garden Tour.

We were planning to partner with Black Gully Festival, Armidale’s environment and arts festival, however unfortunately due to COVID restrictions the Black Gully Festival has been postponed twice and will now be held in Nov 2022.
